Valentine's Day

I guess I will update on Valentine's Day instead of my birthday post first.

Anyway I shall update how my day on feb 14 goes..

I don't really have any much feels for Valentine this year because of exams. Not only Valentine but my birthday and even CNY didn't lead me to having any festive mood, at all.

This semester really drained me out and I lost all motivation, I swear. I gave up because I already know how my GPA is going to turn out this semester. I could barely hit 3. fuck.
Besides, I can't even spend my cny properly, all I can think of was MICE paper.

However, B insist on spending Valentine's Day by going to the famous Rider's Cafe.

Warning: Do not come here without a car unless you are willing to take the challenge of climbing this steeeeep and long stretch of hill.
We saw a couple who literally walked their way here and it took them quite some time. It's like the couple were dressed beautifully since it's valentine yet they must be sweating their way up. Even when I was in the car I was quite surprised at how inaccessible the place was.
Kinda suggest you guys should take a cab thou but the journey will be worth it!!

We went there quite late which makes me rather piss about because I am not that sort of person who likes to start my day late.
Firstly, I have curfew so if it reaches to the point of 4pm and I have to travel somewhere far, I don't see the need to leave my home anymore.
Secondly, cant take nice pictures at all. No more natural sunlight. hahaha irrelevant point but it is really a part of the factor.

We ordered the specials for that day that werent in the menu. This fish was really good, I must say.
The potatoes were really good too LOL. The fish was quite well cooked. Even thou I'm not a fan of fish, I was able to finish it!! :)

Steak wasn't so bad but could have tasted better elsewhere I guess.

My photo would never do justice to this Death by Chocolate Cake.
For those chocolate lovers out there, this is a must try, it's really good and its covered with thick chocolate sauce. The cake is not the one that is sweet but the sauce in between the cake and around it.
Heard many good reviews about this because people actually travel all the way here just to eat this cake.
The portion was quite big (but not as big as P.S cafe's) and I was surprised B and I managed to eat finish this...
Talk about the calories.......nvm it's worth it haha

To sum it up, the food was good but I will come back here again only when I am having a pretty good amount of money and do not mind spending it here. Both of us didn't expect the price to be this because B never check before we come but it was a good place to dine thou. It has great grass ambience and has stables around so you can go check out the horses!! And if you came at the right timing, the horses would actually come out and you can get to say hi and take pictures with it!

Thoughts: The day wasn't fantastically perfect because well, we had some hiccups in between but I am glad we managed to solve it.
Am not a fan of Valentine's day because as the saying goes V Day should be everyday whether is in dating, relationships or even in a married life.
Same goes to Mother's day, father's day and so on.

That does not mean you shouldn't celebrate V day but I just don't like the idea where its like the day for a guy to spend lavishly on a girl just on that day itself. Neither am I saying every day you should do it too but I like the idea where in random days other than feb14 a guy surprise you with just a stalk of flower, chocolates wouldn't that be nicer? I think it's really sweet.
Even a simple "I love you" or a nice dinner, mini homemade picnic would be lovely.
Being a sentimental person, I really like homemade cards and watching our fave dramas or Disney movies together rather than spending lavishly on that day itself.

Secondly I felt like V day is a day to remind someone "happy single awareness day" which actually I feel quite sad. Especially to those who just got broke up and spending this day alone, seeing your instragram and twitter feed is filled with TONS OF COUPLES.
I remembered how I see all my girlfriends receiving tons of gifts from their boyfriends and my guy friends mustering up their courage buying gifts to give their secret admirers and there I was feeling Forever Alone.
I also did spent my Vday by using very much effort to make this gift for this one special person yet the day wasn't that nice either.

However, I read my favourite blogger's blog, it enlighten me and I couldn't agree more to what she had said. Valentine's day shouldn't just be only for couples, it should be for everyone, be it single or attached.
Valentine's day is not about love between a couple but it can also be with your friends, families.
It should be a day that is about celebrating love with all your loved ones and like what she said, celebrate for ourselves. To remind us the people we love and to renew love for the year ahead of us.

This reminds me how during my secondary school days, classmates, friends, every single one write mini cards with sweets to give each other. Sigh, how I miss those days.
I'm also glad that I found the actual reason, reminding me why I made those mini cards to all my fellow friends in the first place.

Each envelope for the guys the drawing describes how I feel their love life was at that time except the girls one which were just simply, us.

Back to topic..

The horse decided to block me but its ok, I forgive you, you are charming enough to steal my spotlight.

The scene was magical like the fairy tale Cinderella.

Bad quality photos due to it being at night :(
While taking the photos, they allowed camera with flash which I find it really very bad, I've never been to places with animals where they allowed you to take photos with flashlight.
As much as I appreciate it, and they helping us to make the horse look into camera, I just don't think it's right. They would get cataracts if this continues. :(
Hopefully it was only for that day itself.

Lastly, to end off this LOOOOONG post, I'm glad that day was well spent itself, and I still appreciates how Bernard tries his best to plan the day despite his upcoming exams at that period of time.
To many more Valentine's day and every day with you. I love you.
